Pikitup campaing
Carried out on January 2001, in Johannesburg, but then it was expanded to all South Africa. Pikitup developed different activities to impact this society, include distributing information-filled posters and pamphlets, publishing media releases, holding exhibitions and interacting with clients. They also visit from house to house interacting with the residents on environmental issues. For schools, the utility uses edutainment and presentations to bring children on board. The edutainment takes the form of industrial plays, with emphasis on environmental challenges, consequences and steps to be taken to prevent the degradation of the environment.The society reacts in a positive way, because every day more people make part of the campaign. It was very successful, and it is proved in the way that was expanded to other cities. Also the objectives they aim at their beginnings where achieved, such as create a waste management conscious in the society, but today they have new ones.

Pikitup Campaign is a great example that shows that the education is the first step in order to change the bad habits toward the environment. People couldnt help the environment if they dont know how to. It is such a great guide for our campaing, Green Basket
ReplyDeleteCampaigns like Pikitup inspire us and make us think about new goals to achieve in our campaign. Pikitup is an example that if we want to help the environment we can do it!!! If they have succeed, Green Basket will do it too.
